Collection of drawings created during my Masters where I explored the subjects of memory and heritage using a collection of my family’s old photo albums as a source material.

Even though most of them preceded me by many decades, I still felt a sense of familiarity towards them. Those places and those people, despite being largely unknown to me, were still part of my history. I looked to the field of psychoanalysis to provide me with a name to that feeling, and that’s when I came across Freud’s concept of the “the uncanny".
